We need not to chased the mirthless materialism.

There are a lot of aspects which lead us to be happy, however our society put us into a box of thinking in which material circumstances make essential role for being happy. 

Long-term happiness does not come from material circumstances. Although acquiring money, TVs, and car makes us happy, having them does not. 

The lure of filthy lucre is strong and natural, but it couldn't give us long-term happiness. 

People quickly adjust to an improvement in their life.

Seemingly important information such as age, sex, race, or financial status provides almost no predictive improvement over simply assuming that there are happy people and there are unhappy people.

The genetic boss makes us forget that last week's promises were not kept.

We can begin by trying to take our goals less seriously.

Chasing material circumstances for happiness is likely to put ourselves into a treadmill which makes us never happy. As we make a step forward to be happy, the ground of the treadmill backward. Consequentially, we have not moved even one millimeter.
