'원'에서는 느낄 수 없는 '사각'의 매력을 탐구하자
사각 시계의 매력을 아는 이가 얼마나 될까요? 보통 손목 시계라 하면 보편적으로 원형을 먼저 떠올립니다. 원형 외의 형태를 가진 시계에 대해서는 '노인간지', '탑골간지' 등의 거침 없고 원색적인 표현과 함께 비호감을 드러내는 이들이 간혹 있기도한데요.
사실 사각형이 주는 매력은 가히 치명적일 정도입니다. 원형에서는 느낄 수 없는 중후함을 느낄 수 있으며 손목 위에서의 안정감 또한 사뭇 다르게 다가옵니다. 보통 시계란 취미를 오래 할수록 원형보단 사각에 더 큰 애정을 느낀다고하니, 짧은 내공으로는 보지 못하는 아름다움을 내포하고 있는게 아닐까 생각해 봅니다.
오늘 소개해드릴 시계는 제니스사의 오토매틱 사각 시계입니다. 대각선의 길이는 40mm로 손목 위에서의 존재감은 단연 돋보입니다. 원형은 직경을, 사각형은 대각선의 길이를 재는 것이 시계 크기를 가늠하는 가장 좋은 지표라 할 수 있겠네요. 다이얼을 가르는 크로스 헤어 라인은 심미적 감성을 충족시키기에 충분한 요소입니다. 높게 솓은 인덱스 또한 빈티지 시계에선 빼놓을 수 없는 가치 형성 포인트가 되겠네요.

I have been captivated with vintage line of the zenith for about 3 months. I have bought and sold few zenith watches for this period, and I finally have some kind of insight how to collect zenith watches which are worth and relatively collectible. According to my Zenith-hunt experiences for 3 months, I have set the bar of criteria for my collecting based on my preference and market values.
There are many elements that make vintage zenith watch more worth and distinguish them apart from common models of the Zenith. For instance, an embossed Zenith or five-pointed star mark, a screw type of the case back and craftsmanship of a dial such as a cross hair line feature could accelerates the value of a watch.
This is an outstanding Zenith timepiece with a dial printed a cross hair line which makes the watch more dignified. The watch come with 30mm wide and 20mm lug. Because of its rectangle-shaped case, it looks bigger than what its supposed to be.
